It's about time for us to bid goodbye to year 2006 and welcome 2007. It’s also time for me to reflect back on the important events of my life throughout the year.
If you guys remember, my 2006 started off badly. Barely 3 hours into 2006, I got into a violent encounter with a bunch of mat rempits! Though I wasn’t badly injured, the incident left an impact on me la. I’m much more careful nowadays especially when I see suspicious characters around me.
What a start for the year!
Hmm….let’s see what are the other significant events that happened to me in year 2006.
- This is a terrific year for traveling. I’ve never traveled so much before in my life. It all started with the journey to our very own paradise – Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang and Pulau Lang Tengah. Love the place, people, food, tour guides, boat driver, boat ride, the sea, fishes, turtles, dolphins, corals and the turquoise water. I'm planning to go back next year.

- I took AirAsia for the first time and set foot in KLIA for the very first time too. Don’t laugh if you happen to be a frequent flyer or used KLIA a million times already.
- It was also my first trip to the East Coast and Terengganu. It’s a different place altogether compared to the West Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia. Life there is very slow...VERY.
- After traveling to Terengganu, I worked part-time in KL for the first time - the telemarketing line in Malaysia’s largest and most happening fitness centre. It was a love-hate kinda thing working there. I love the people and pay but I hate the job – boring, tiring and you will get scolded/cursed at least once a day over the phone.
This is not a club or bar but the leisure corner in True Fitness.
- I exhausted the pay from my part-time jobs combined for another unexpected trip. The real paradise made up of thousands of tiny islands – The Maldives. This is an unforgettable travel destination la.

- Landed in the land of Tamil Tigers for the first time – Sri Lanka enroute to Maldives and saw plenty of coconut trees.
- Flying in the sea plane across atolls and hundreds of islands and onboard the world’s only passenger submarine. PRICELESS.

- Moved to a new room in KL. I love my new room - newly renovated, airy, located in a secured neighbourhood and a place fit to be called my second home. Hate the internet there though.
- Life there is such a routine – go to college, eat (mostly horrible food), sleep, go to malls, watch dramas in the room and online until internet oso kaput. Basically like that lo. Always confined to Damansara and PJ but will travel to Subang more often when I go back.
- Finished reading my first book. I just bought the second book from Penang's first Borders. I’ve never finished reading books I started, lol. I don’t normally read la but due to the unstable internet connection at my place I bought a few books to read whenever the connection is down.

- Completed my first year without any resits but i didn't get any As!!!
- Our 3rd anniversary :)
- I miss my hometown friends and buddies. I hardly get to meet all of them together. Sigh.
- Celebrated my 21st Birthday twice but many didn't turn up coz my birthday falls on the most stressful and busiest month of the year. Sudah biasa la.
- A blessed year for traveling as I set off to another destination in October – back to China to trace my ancestral roots. It is an eye opener to see the remains of the great ancient Chinese civilization and how our Chinese brothers are progressing of late. It was quite embarrassing that I couldn’t communicate with them in Mandarin though.
- Spent hours eating and shopping at Hong Kong's sophisticated airport during the transits.

- I am officially broke for more travelling. I spent all my savings from my part time jobs on those trips d. I desperately need money to continue globe trekking so I signed up for PayPerPost hoping to earn some US Dollars from it. Don't worry, i wont' spam my own blog with those sponsored entries.
- This is also my second year at HELP and we had intakes combined. I'm glad to have more classmates this year and of course the opportunity to know people from other intakes better. So far so good :)
- As for my faith, i'm ashame to say that i'm actually slacking this year. Slacking since i went to KL. I still can't seem to attach myself to a church there. I'm making it one of my new year resolution to get myself attached to one. I pray that God will guide me through this.
Overall, year 2006 is pretty generous to me la despite all the ups and downs. I will miss you Year 2006! I don't know what to expect next year. I hope my 2007 will be great but first i have to clear all the hurdles coming my way. Yaiks!
BYE BYE 2006! You will be remembered through this entry.
